My Story

Hello, I'm Steven Partlett, the filmmaker behind Life in Motion Videography. I've always been drawn to the art of storytelling, and from a young age, I found myself creating and directing various videos. My journey led me to pursue advanced media studies, but after graduation, I took an unexpected path working with Autistic students in both residential and school settings.

In 2015, I made the bold decision to establish my own videography business, initially collaborating with outdoor adventure companies. However, it was through capturing the magic of weddings that I discovered my true passion. Working closely with couples, I have the privilege of understanding their vision for their special day and bringing it to life through my lens.

As my family grew, I scaled back my work to focus on being present for my children. Now, with a newfound sense of balance, I'm fully dedicated to Life in Motion, creating cinematic wedding films that couples will treasure for generations to come.

2015

The Beginning

My journey into wedding videography began when I filmed a friend's wedding as a favour. What started as a simple gesture quickly evolved into a passion for storytelling through film.

2017

Professional Training

I invested in professional cinematography training, learning advanced techniques in lighting, composition, and narrative storytelling to elevate my wedding films.

2019

International Recognition

My work began receiving recognition in international wedding film festivals, validating my artistic approach and commitment to quality.

2021

Life in Motion Studio

I established Life in Motion as a dedicated wedding videography studio, focusing exclusively on creating premium cinematic wedding films.

My Approach

I take a documentary-style approach to wedding videography, focusing on capturing genuine emotions and interactions rather than staging moments. My goal is to be as unobtrusive as possible while still capturing all the important moments of your day.
